Holy snow!! We had a blizzard blow through Maryland this weekend, leaving record breaking snowfall. It seriously shut down the entire city. Stores, schools, malls, even some hospitals closed. At one point they were asking for volunteers with 4 wheel drive to shuttle hospital employees to work. That's crazy! And we've been asked not to drive unless it's an emergency. Good thing I went to Giant Thursday night to stock up on groceries (along with the rest of the city). It was insane! The parking lot was packed -with cars waiting in the isles. The lines were ridiculous and the food was totally picked over. You'd think the world was coming to an end.
Anyway, this is why church was canceled today...
We had to dig ourselves out. And the roads get really icy and dangerous when everything freezes overnight.Today is day 3 of our hibernation and we've really enjoyed ourselves. Playing games, watching movies (Star Wars marathon included), sleeping in the basement, eating junk food...good times. We've had to get a little creative with the kids to use up some of their pent up energy though.

We had them doing jumping jacks, push ups, pull ups...anything to get them moving. The family that exercises together-stays together, right? Or at least keeps them busy so they don't argue and fight and drive each other into insanity.

Ha! I can't figure out why Lex was so scared. She was like one foot off the ground. (gotta love the open fly -that's my Lex!)

Haven't attempted one of these in years! About broke my back trying too. Getting old sucks!
Lex could use a little help :) but look at Isaac! That kid can practically fold in half.
Of course we also spent plenty of time outside too
Building an igloo per Lexi's request. Then she wanted a back entrance, followed by a couple sides doors, then a gate. Andy drew the line at stairs. :D
School is closed AGAIN tomorrow which totally foils our anniversary plans. Boo. Oh well, hopefully this will be the last day of our confinement because I'm starting to get cabin fever!

Wow! Cool snow fort! Hope you guys are doing well. Crazy winter snow...
Don't we all wish the confinement was over! I am sure we'll be in for at least another day, maybe two.
I really wish we could have made it over today to go sledding. I don't know what the deal is with our neighborhood not plowing anything. I love the first pic of you and Andy. Its so cute! Happy late Anniversary, btw.
