GONE are the weekends of sleeping in and enjoying lazy Saturday mornings watching cartoons and eating German pancakes. I have a feeling we've entered a new stage of life which includes waking up early on Saturdays and heading to the field for one sport or another.
Our current sport is soccer. The kids like to get all pumped for their games by rolling down the windows and cranking some sweet tunes (Pearl Jam, U2, Alvin and the Chipmunks--you know, the hard core stuff).
Sometimes we really get into it. Lexi has recently the discovered the awesome-ness of vibrato and believe me, she lays it on thick. Re-E-e-E-e-E-eally thick.
Just goofing around during Isaac's game
Lexi isn't quite as competitive as Isaac. Here she is standing in the middle of the field wiggling her loose teeth. Boy, is she excited about those! Later, she was on all fours scowering for bugs. Her shining moment at this game was when the ball was kicked out of bounds and the whistle was blown so everybody pulled back except Lex. She kept dribbling that ball down the field and thought she was doing awesome. The ref blew his whistle several more times to get her attention and finally gave up and grabbed the ball. Good to know I'm not the only one she can't hear.
