We wanted to see Fort McHenry in downtown Baltimore, which is also where Andy's school is located, so we decided to stop by so he could show us around. It was nice to finally see where he's going everyday and what he's doing; and now Lexi finally understands that daddy's school isn't at the metro stop where he gets dropped off everyday. :)
We walked through the simulation lab and Andy showed us all of the tools he uses and let the kids try out the little air/water syringe thingy. Shh, don't tell -it was probably against the rules.

The lookout point from Fort McHenry that oversees where the Patapsco runs into the Chesapeake Bay
We started at the visitor center by watching a short 15 minute video about the history of the fort. This is where the British attacked America in the war of 1812 and where Francis Scott Key was inspired to write the Star Spangled Banner.
At the end of the video, we all stood and listened to an incredible all male choir sing the national anthem while a great big curtain was pulled back to reveal this giant flag. It's not the original but we've seen it in the American History Museum in D.C.
The weather was so hot and sticky that day that this underground bomb shelter felt rather nice
